Dear Congregation,

It is that time of the year when we reflect on what is it we want to accomplish as a church and how are we going to do that. How can you be a part of our mission? It is more than tithes and offerings. It is a way of life. Everything we do or say has a reflection on what it is to be followers of Jesus Christ. We are the beacon’s that God has sent us out into the world to proclaim Jesus as our Savior and to be the ears, voice, hands and feet of Jesus Christ.

God has entrusted us with a huge task of stewardship. Taking care of the things he has blessed us with and taking care of all around us that he has provided. From the earth and all its surroundings, to the people in it, to the church he gave us to worship in.

It is also the planning of how are we going to budget our funds and provide for the needs of our church. This entails commitments we make to the church and pledges, and committees and boards that plan thoroughly on how we are going to fund and par take in all of our visions and hope of what we want to bring forward for God through our church.

If you would like to join a Church Board or committee, please speak with one of the members of each board where your talents could be useful to our church and beyond. You would be surprised how many things are being done for outreach and others behind the scenes. How many people it takes to upkeep the church itself. Everyone has been blessed with gifts from God. Everyone has something they can do or share with others.

Please fill out Pledge cards (see Gwen Yaskoski) if you can, you can mail them back to us or drop them in the basket in the back of the church on Sunday, so we will know what we have to work with on the church budgets to come forward with at the annual meeting. Our church budget covers everything we need to keep our church going. From payroll, repairs, maintenance, utilities, equipment, programs, missions, and more. It comes from the generous people like you who commit their gifts and talents to our church. 2 Corinthians 9:7 states “Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver” This verse emphasizes that giving should be a willing and generous act, not something done out of obligation or regret.

Let us give with a grateful heart and celebrate. Giving and sharing of the blessings that God has given to us. AMEN!

With Unending Faith, Darlene Dean
