December 7 — Advent Week 2  (Pageant Sunday)

Lighting of the Advent Wreath — Week 2  (Peace)

A special Sunday centered around the children’s Christmas Pageant as we continue our Advent journey. This week’s candle reminds us of the peace Jesus brings into our world and into our lives.


December 14 — Advent Week 3  (Communion Sunday)

Old Testament Reading: Daniel 7:13–14

A prophetic vision of the “Son of Man,” the One given everlasting dominion, glory, and a kingdom that will never pass away.

Gospel Reading: Matthew 16:13–28

Jesus asks His disciples, “Who do you say that I am?” and reveals His identity and mission.

Theme: We know Jesus as the Son of Man, shown through His true humanness—walking with us, understanding our struggles, and calling us to follow Him.

Lighting of the Advent Wreath — Week 3  (Joy)

This candle reminds us of the joy that Christ brings, even in the midst of waiting.


December 18 — Blue Christmas Service

A gentle, reflective service for those experiencing sorrow, loss, or heaviness during the holiday season. This time invites God’s comfort and hope as we acknowledge that not everyone feels joyful during Christmas.


December 21 — Advent Week 4

Old Testament Reading: Isaiah 61:1–3

A promise of the Anointed One who brings good news, healing, freedom, and comfort to the brokenhearted.

Gospel Reading: Matthew 9:35–38

Jesus is moved with compassion for the crowds and calls His followers to join in His mission.

Theme: We know Jesus through His examples of love, compassion, sacrifice, and forgiveness—showing us how to extend His heart to others.

Lighting of the Advent Wreath — Week 4  (Love)

This candle points us to the boundless love of God revealed in Christ.


December 24 — Christmas Eve

Epistle Reading: Philippians 2:1–11

A beautiful hymn describing Jesus’ humility—God made flesh—who came to serve, obey, and ultimately be exalted above every name.

Gospel Reading: Matthew 1:18–25

The birth of Jesus foretold to Joseph: Emmanuel, “God with us.”

Theme: We know Jesus as Lord—inviting us to let Him rule our heart, mind, and actions as we celebrate His birth.

Lighting of the Advent Wreath — Christ Candle

The center candle declares the arrival of Jesus—the Light of the World. All candles are lit tonight.


December 28 — First Sunday After Christmas

Gospel Reading: Matthew 2:13–23

God protects the Holy Family as Joseph obeys divine instructions, showing God’s active presence even in times of danger.

Gospel Reading: John 1:1–18

The eternal Word becomes flesh and dwells among us, full of grace and truth.

Theme: Two Gospel readings remind us that God’s Word is never idle. It moves, speaks, creates, guides, and becomes flesh in Christ.
