In this YouTube video, Lisa Mollison shares the story and purpose behind Companions in Grief, a Christian grief support group created to provide a safe and caring space for those navigating the journey of loss.
Lisa discusses the importance of having companions who understand the realities of grief and the ways the group helps participants care for their spiritual, emotional, and physical well-being. Through prayer, Bible study, journaling, self-care practices, reflection, and honest conversation, participants are encouraged to express their feelings, remember their loved ones, and discover that they do not have to walk through grief alone.
She also shares how the group grew together over time—from simply gathering in prayer to developing deep friendships, compassion, and lasting companionship.
Most importantly, Lisa reminds us that grief is a journey, not something we simply “get over.” Even in the midst of loss, laughter, joy, healing, and hope can still be found.
Thanks to a grant from the Brookfield Community Club, Brookfield Congregational Church has been blessed with the opportunity to offer this support to our church family and the wider community.
If you or someone you know is experiencing grief, future Companions in Grief groups will be open to anyone, wherever they may be in their journey.
