On May 23rd, the Brookfield Common was buzzing with excitement during the beloved Brookfield Garden Club Plant Sale—and our “Tomatoes by Teens” booth was right at the heart of it all! From 9AM until 1pm, our incredible teens proudly showcased and sold the tomato plants they had grown themselves—from tiny seeds to thriving plants.
With a few plants to sell after Sunday Service and to the Seniors during the week, the teens took 25 reminaing plants and planted them in our churches back lot. Hopefully the plants will produce an abundance of tomatoes we can make sauce with for future congregation dinners.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to Steve Novak and our congregation for their guidance, encouragement, and support in making this initiative such a success. Thank you to everyone who came out, purchased plants, and cheered on our young growers
