November Worship Series at Brookfield Congregational Church Join us each Sunday as we journey through Scripture together and prepare our hearts for Advent. Here’s a look at the upcoming readings and themes for the coming weeks:
November 2 – Communion Sunday Reader: Abby Readings:Psalm 23 & John 10:11–16 We begin this month with the beloved words of Psalm 23 — a journey with the Good Shepherd who lovingly guides, comforts, and restores us. In John, Jesus declares, “I am the Good Shepherd,” reminding us that His care is both personal and eternal.
November 9 Reader: Cathy Farr Readings:Isaiah 1:10–18 & Luke 19:1–10 The transforming love of Jesus calls us to real change — not empty rituals, but hearts renewed by grace. Just as Zacchaeus’ life was turned around, God longs to restore us and bring us back in line with His hope for us.
November 16 – Deacon-Led Service Reader: Gina Mesick Readings:Genesis 1:26–28 & Matthew 25:14–30 While Pastor Brian is away, our Deacons and Darlene Dean will lead a special service focused on Stewardship — reminding us that everything we have is a gift from God, and we are called to use those gifts faithfully and generously.
November 23 Reader: Jane Snyder Readings:Jeremiah 23:1–6 & Luke 23:33–43 As we approach Advent, we reflect on the cross — the ending that became our new beginning. Jesus’ suffering and mercy show us what true kingship looks like. Together, we give thanks for His love that endures to the end.
November 30 – First Sunday of Advent Reader: Darlene Dean Readings:Isaiah 7:10–14 & Matthew 1:18–23 We begin Advent with the promise of Emmanuel – “God with us.” This week’s theme focuses on how we know Jesus as the One who is present among us, revealing God’s love through our lives.
