We wanted to remind everyone that we are still working on reaching our goal of $2,500 supporting Heifer International. It is our hope we will be able to purchase various animals that would help families to live independently and ultimately help a neighbor as well. We are just under $800 needed to complete the amount stated above. All donations of any amount are most welcome and can be given to Gwen directly or placed on the offering plate. Be sure to indicate it is for Heifer International. Or if you are inclined, feel free to feed Gertrude during any coffee hour.
Thank you so much for your support.
In the meantime, we also want to support our Brookfield Ecumenical Food Pantry during the Thanksgiving season. Therefore, we are offering everyone a chance to purchase items to increase the pantry’s supplies. Please take a bag from the basket at the back of the last pew and fill it with any or all of the following items:
Canned yams or instant potato packets
Other canned veggies
Stuffing mix
Gravy
Canned cranberry sauce
Bread, muffin or Bisquick mix
Dessert mix or prepackaged dessert that won’t spoil
Thanksgiving napkins and/or paper plates
Please have all items at the church by November 15th.
Thank you so much for your support
We are all set on the prayer shawls for Blue Christmas. We will need a few more shawls to have in stock for regular use and distribution.
Here are the guidelines:
Womens prayer shawls 22x60
Men’s prayer shawls 22x60
Baby blankets 18x18
Children’s with bears 18x50
You pick the colors, if you have any questions please speak with Patti Coltey. When the shawl is done please let Patti know so we can keep track of what we have made. If you would like to make hats and mittens for the elementary school, now would be the time to do that. We will distribute them to the elementary school when we have enough gathered.
A big thank you to all who participated in writing out the Christmas Cards for our Service Members. This year they are being sent to Germany. It makes a huge difference in the hearts of those so far away to be remembered, respected, and show we appreciate them. May God bless you all, for making a difference and all you do.
